Whenever the term "organic" is used, it seems to have different meanings. It grew from a popular movement in the 60's and 70's and originally implied "natural, produced without man-made chemicals, fertilizers or pesticides, etc."
In recent years, thanks to a growing demand in the marketplace for organic products, common definitions, standards, regulations and certifications have evolved.
